Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Notes ("the Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Notes. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
Your Account
To use Notes, you must register for an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access.
- Ensuring your email address remains up to date so you can recover your account.
We strongly recommend using a unique password that you do not reuse on other services.
Acceptable Use
Notes is provided for personal and professional note-taking and image saving. You agree not to use the Service to:
- Store or distribute illegal content of any kind, including illegal images.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful material.
- Upload copyrighted images that you do not own or have permission to use.
- Upload images containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), extreme violence, or any content that violates applicable law. Such content will be reported and your account terminated immediately.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service in any way.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all notes, text, images, and other content you create or upload to Notes ("Your Content").
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service on your behalf. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account.
We do not claim any ownership over Your Content, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
Image Uploads
The Save Image feature allows you to upload images from your device into your personal gallery. By uploading an image, you confirm that:
- You own the image or have permission from the copyright owner to upload it.
- The image does not contain illegal, harmful, or prohibited content (see Acceptable Use above).
- The image does not contain sensitive personal information that you are not comfortable with being publicly accessible (see Privacy Policy).
Third-Party Hosting
Images are hosted on ImgBB, a third-party image hosting service. When you upload an image:
- The image file is transmitted directly from your browser to ImgBB.
- ImgBB returns a public URL which we store in your Firebase account.
- Your image becomes accessible via that public URL. We do not share the URL with anyone, but anyone who obtains it can view the image.
- Deleting an image from your gallery removes the record from our database but does not automatically remove the file from ImgBB's servers. You can use the deletion link associated with each image if available, or contact us for assistance.
File Size and Format
Uploads are limited to image files under 10 MB in size. Common formats (JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP) are supported. We reserve the right to refuse uploads that exceed these limits or violate these Terms.
Storage Quotas
We may, at our sole discretion, introduce reasonable storage or upload quotas to protect the Service from abuse. We will give reasonable notice before enforcing any new quota.
Service Availability
We aim to keep Notes available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled or emergency maintenance.
- Network or infrastructure issues outside our control.
- Third-party service outages (such as Firebase or ImgBB).
We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by temporary unavailability. We recommend keeping important notes and images backed up elsewhere.
Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. When you do:
- All your notes are permanently removed from our database.
- All your image records are permanently removed from our database.
- Your account credentials are deleted from Firebase Authentication.
- This action cannot be undone.
Note: image files hosted on ImgBB may remain on their servers. Please refer to ImgBB's deletion policy if you wish to remove a file from their infrastructure.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice. In cases of serious abuse, we may take action immediately to protect other users and the Service.
Limitation of Liability
Notes is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Loss of data, notes, images, or content, however caused.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Loss of profits, business, or goodwill arising from use of the Service.
- Actions of third-party services, including Firebase, ImgBB, and GoatCounter.
You use Notes at your own discretion and risk. Please keep backups of any critical information and images.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or best practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of Notes after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
